Team Canada pulled away from a chasing pack to win the FCC Nations Cup at Angkor Golf Resort earlier this month.
Teams representing Australia, UK and Ireland, France, Thailand and host nation Cambodia competed manfully in wet conditions to win the FCC Nations Cup.After the first round it was clear to see which nation was geared up for the event, with Canada setting out their intentions early on with Jonathan Naylor and Andy Vasily both scoring well after 18 holes.

Cambodia with local favorite Captain; Ly Hong had the round of the day shooting a gross 70 and being ably assisted by big hitting Chris Boshoff who scored 32 stableford points. Although internal arguing over the captaincy of the UK and Ireland team was still going on into early hours of Sunday morning, they too had a chance of catching the early pace setters or Team Canada.
With a glimmer of sunshine and a Captain selected for UK and Ireland in Brendan O Driscoll golf commenced at 8am. Amidst heavy heads and intermittent rain, teams battled it out on the fairways of Angkor Golf Resort to lay claim to the FCC Nations Cup.
Team Cambodia made a big push for glory with Ly Hong and Boshoff again scoring well on the final day. A correct selection of Captain saw Brendan O driscoll score a massive 42 points to put UK and Ireland into contention. However, another strong showing by Canada saw them win by twelve shots from Team’s UK and Ireland and Cambodia.
An exciting weekend of golf was enjoyed by all and organizers FCC are determined to play host to the event again early next year.
